Additionally, India, for all intents and purposes, appears to be dirty. The air is not as clean as the air here in America, largely due to the pollution from the sheer number of vehicles navigating the streets. The trash is not disposed of properly. Rivers, lakes, sidewalks, streets, it all appears to be one big garbage bin for the residents of India; as such there is simply waste everywhere. Due to this, there appears to be far less concern with spotless cleanliness. People still want to be clean, as they do in all levels of society, but Americans are extremely adamant, for the most part, about detailing and spot cleaning every aspect of their lives. Indians do not appear to have this same level of dirt removal in mind. As such, they are far more content with how life is. They accept the nature in existence, and not trying to eradicate it to preserve some false sense of security or stain free life. They will hang their clothes from balconies of high rises, and small girls will completely ignore the fact that they have dresses on and roll and play in the dirt all the while. If my nieces did something like that my sisters would be furious. However, it is simply not that way. Dirt, or uncleanness as one may see it, is just a part of their lives that they accept as is; and the way that I see it, they are far easier going about other aspects of life as a result.
Indian interaction with the environment truly astonishes me. In some sense, they are way more friendly to it than we are in America. In other ways, they are far worse to it. I can't say anything, as there are aspects of our society that is more detestable than this, however we do seem to maintain our waste better.
