Intial Thoughts/ Purpose

I had a sense of wanderlust, a sense of adventure and travel, and going with a group of fellow believers seemed like the perfect combination. I had heard from past members of the trip that this was a life changing experience. I would occasionally see their social media updates with small children, which they longed to return to. Seeing what an impact this experience had on my friends, considering my own desire for a journey, and acknowledging the fact that this was available through my institution; I simply couldn’t let it go to waste. So, I applied for the India trip for the duration of the 2018 January term. What I did not know is that God had a far greater plan in store for me than appeasing a desire to travel and hanging out with fellow Christians. Now that I have returned, I see now that this experience was intended to be a call to arms, an awakening of spirit and heart, and a message that is now inscribed on my heart forever.

I knew that I wanted to go on this trip, I just didn't know how or why. Through God, help from friends and family, and sheer luck it seemed, everything sort of fell into place. It was truly remarkable how this trip came about, and how I was able to go on it. I knew it would be an experience, but I was not prepared for what actually came to be.
